Child Safety Standards

Last Updated: September 15, 2026 · Effective Date: September 15, 2026

1. Our Commitment

These Child Safety Standards apply to the Here Now app, published on Google Play and the Apple App Store by Here Now Group Ltd, and to the Here Now website at herenowlocal.app.

Here Now has a zero-tolerance policy towards child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). We prohibit any content, conduct, or use of our Service that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers children. This applies to every user, every feature, and every message sent through Here Now.

These Standards form part of our Terms of Service. By using Here Now you agree to comply with them.

2. Adults Only

Here Now is an adults-only service. You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Service. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use Here Now, and we remove accounts that we discover belong to minors.

If you believe a child is using Here Now, please tell us immediately using the contact details in Section 6.

3. Prohibited Content and Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited on Here Now. This list is not exhaustive.

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, linking to, or possessing any image, video, text, or other content that depicts or describes a child in a sexual manner, including drawn, animated, or AI-generated material.
  • Sexualisation of minors: any content or conduct that presents a child in a sexual context, or that promotes, normalises, or glorifies sexual interest in children.
  • Grooming: using Here Now to contact, befriend, or build trust with a child for the purpose of sexual abuse or exploitation, including attempts to move a child to another platform.
  • Sextortion: threatening or coercing a child to obtain sexual content, sexual acts, money, or anything else.
  • Trafficking and exploitation: advertising, facilitating, or soliciting the sexual exploitation, trafficking, or abuse of a child, including arranging in-person meetings with a child for any sexual purpose.
  • Misrepresenting age: a minor claiming to be an adult, or an adult claiming to be a minor, in order to use the Service or contact other users.

Here Now is designed for adults to meet other adults nearby. Any attempt to use the Service to arrange contact with a child for a sexual purpose, or to share material of the kind described above, will result in immediate and permanent removal from the Service and referral to law enforcement.

4. How We Enforce These Standards

  • In-app reporting and blocking. Every user can block and report any other user, post, or message from within the app.
  • Review. Reports involving child safety are treated as the highest priority and are reviewed by a member of the Here Now team.
  • Removal. We remove violating content and permanently terminate the accounts responsible. There is no appeal for CSAE violations.
  • Reporting to authorities. We report apparent CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, and to the relevant law enforcement or child protection authorities in other jurisdictions, as required by law.
  • Preserving evidence. We preserve relevant account and content data to support investigations, in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
  • Cooperation. We cooperate fully with lawful requests from law enforcement agencies investigating child safety matters.

5. Compliance With Law

Here Now complies with all applicable child safety and child protection laws, including laws relating to the reporting of child sexual abuse material, in every country where the Service is available. These Standards are designed to meet the requirements of the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy and the Apple App Store Review Guidelines.

6. How to Report a Concern

If you see anything on Here Now that may involve the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child, please report it straight away.

  • In the app: open the user, post, or message and choose Report. Select the option relating to child safety.
  • By email: contact our designated Child Safety point of contact at support@herenowlocal.app with the subject line "Child safety report".

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org. In the United Kingdom you can report to the Internet Watch Foundation at report.iwf.org.uk.
